許多初見面的朋友，一聽到「部落灣」，會問：你們是原住民？

「不是，但…也是」我總這樣回答。

大約二十多年前，我閱讀到瑪洛•摩根醫師所寫的「曠野的聲音」小說，描述一位記者受到澳洲眞人部落邀請，加入原住民徒步穿越澳洲大陸的曠野漫遊經歷。故事引人入勝，更觸及我心的是，古老文化尊重自然、互信互助、人人各盡所能的社會。真人部落送出的歸真返璞訊息，令人心嚮往之。2002年公司成立，以「部落灣」為名，記取「眞人部落」所送出的萬物平等尊重、珍惜家園的訊息。

Many people who first heard about us, Tribe Bay, would curiously ask “are you aborigines?”

“No, we are not; but in a way...yes, we are” I always answered like this.

Approximately twenty years ago, I read about Mutant Message Down Under written by Dr. Marlo Morgan. The fiction is about a journalist who was invited by “the Real People”, an aboriginal tribe in Australia, to join their wander across the Australian wilderness on foot. This story is truly fascinating, and what deeply touched my heart is that society which respects Mother Nature and ancient culture, mutually trust and assist one another, and every person does what he/she can. The message of “return to innocence and originality” the Real People pass on to the world is a heartfelt longing of us. Tribe Bay was established in 2002, naming as a homage to the principles of which the Real People tribe holds: all creatures are equal and respectful, as well as cherish our homeland.
